Air Evac opens base in Hardinsburg

Air Evac Lifeteam, an independently owned air ambulance provider, has opened a base in Hardinsburg, in Breckinridge County, at Breckinridge County Memorial Hospital on Old Highway 60. The base is one of 91 in the company’s network of air ambulance services and its ninth in Kentucky. The other state bases are in Hopkinsville, Albany, Middlesboro, Campbellsville, Danville, Bowling Green, Whitley County and Harlan.
The new base will employ a staff of 12 to 15, and will serve communities within 70 miles of Hardinsburg. “This is a great addition to the already quality health services available in this area,” Seth Myers, president of West Plains, Mo.-based Air Evac Lifeteam, said in a news release. “The opening of this base is part of an ever-expanding commitment by Air Evac Lifeteam and the health care community in this region to improve access to trauma care for residents of northern Kentucky.” Air Evac offers an annual membership program for $50 per person, $55 per couple or $60 for a household of three or more. If Air Evac flies any member for a life or limb-threatening emergency, the member does not have to pay for the flight. For more information about the company, visit www.lifeteam.net.
